Red Carpet Fashion

The BAFTA Awards 2013

The 2013 British Academy Film Awards were held in a very cold and rainy London last night, where black and white outfits were the biggest trend of the night. This a roundup of the most notable looks from the event.

Monochromatic

Jennifer Garner walked the red carpet in a two-toned peplum halter neck dress with black skirt by Roland Mouret. Hayley Atwell kept things interesting in a black and white beaded dress by Antonio Berardi. Juno Temple went chic and understated in a white Stella McCartney gown with wide black belt. Gemma Arterton was an optical illusion in a diagonally striped black and nude dress by Celia Kritharioti.

Colour Pop

Laura Bailey was beautifully bright in a poppy red Roksanda Ilincic dress, styled with a silver embellished clutch. Marion Cotillard stole stares in this vibrant canary yellow Christian Dior gown featuring a voluminous draped waist with sheer insert. Jessica Chastain was radiant in a royal blue architecturally shaped gown by Roland Mouret. Andrea Riseborough also opted for sunshine yellow, her ribboned-bodice dress is by Vivienne Westwood.

Lace Linings

Thandie Newton was dressed in a lacy black Louis Vuitton gown with sheer scalloped skirt. Elizabeth Olsen picked a romantic ruffled look by Chanel Couture, her black and white peplum dress is fitted with feathered lace appliqués. Amy Adams was ravishing in a glamourous Elie Saab gown with sheer lace bodice and sleeves, and a front-slit skirt. Lily James looked fetching in a champagne satin dress, layered with dainty black lace.

Glittering Gowns

Eclectic songtress Paloma Faith went for optimal attention in a fully beaded silver Nicholas Oakwell gown with long sleeves and cut-out neck. An elaborate hairdo completed her look. Jennifer Lawrence was pretty in a pale strapless Dior gown, that glittered with sparsely beaded embellishments on the bodice. Natalie Dormer also opted for the key-hole cut-out trend, in a shimmering bronze gown with bishop sleeves and belted waist.

 Black Out

Sarah Jessica Parker went against the style grain and wore a slick Elie Saab jumpsuit with key-hole cut-out neck. Laura Whitmore made a striking appearance in a sexy Alexandre Vauthier jumpsuit, with slitted neckline & long-sleeves. Gold cuffs perfected her look. Anne Hathaway was elegant in a short-sleeved Burberry gown with studded bodice. Alicia Vikander sizzled with simplicity in an asymmetrical Christian Dior gown with alluring cut-out back.
